Meet The Author
Rayne was born in Helsinki,
Finland. After graduation from college, she obtained a degree in
psychology. In the United States, she studied chemical dependence
and related disorders and received certification in England.

After moving to Geneva, Switzerland, Rayne worked in a
multinational company as an addictions counselor with responsibility
for several of their European subsidiaries. She facilitated
workshops, developed management training courses to identify
troubled employees, a four-hour educational program, and co-authored
a film script. While employed, Rayne wrote two non-fiction books; on
alcoholism, and dysfunction in the workplace. Because of her
experience, she traveled to most European countries, including what
was then the East block and Moscow, lecturing in her field.
From early childhood, Rayne read: American, French, and
Russian classics, modern American literature, and poetry. Most of
her life, she wanted to be a writer. Betty Smith’s “A Tree Grows in
Brooklyn” motivated her to want to write real books about real
people speaking to real people; books about those painful life
situations that are talked about in hushed tones. She shows her
readers that no matter how bad the condition may seem, there is
always a way out; the prerequisite is the desire to change. Telling
her readers there is a solution isn’t enough; Rayne also wants to
point them in the right direction to find effective help. Writing
fiction started as a pastime, but it soon became a passion.
Rayne continues to study creative writing and is active
in critic groups at Writers Village University. She now writes
full-time, and lives in Florida and Geneva.
Her second novel is in its final stages of editing, and
she is hard at work on her third book.
